Artificial Ice Climbing Walls
This feature replicates the thrill of ice climbing using a dense plastic ‘ice’ that gives a realistic ‘ice climbing’ feel.
Participants use standard ice climbing equipment, boots, ice axes and crampons, to ascend the wall under the control of a qualified instructor.
All walls supplied with basic equipment including helmets, eye protection, harnesses, boots, ice axes and crampons. Suitably trained climbing staff are provided if required.
Sizes range from a single route wall 2.4m x 7.2m high to multiple route walls. Please note that for general public use a 7.2m high wall is normally adequate but higher walls can be built if required.
In addition to recreational Ice Climbing these walls can be use for head to head racing where competitors race against each other on a knock-out basis. This is exciting to watch and can be incorporated into the normal programme of use or used as part of an activity / team building day. First introduced to the event industry by CLG in 1994 at the Daily Mail Ski Show and seen elsewhere at public events both in the UK and mainland Europe.
